The Arc of Larimer County Accepting Film Submissions for Sixth Annual Film Festival, Winning Filmmaker Receives $500

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORT COLLINS, COLO. (Nov. 14, 2017) – The Arc of Larimer County is accepting film submissions for its Sixth Annual Film Festival, ReFrame Disability, on March 2, 2018. The winning filmmaker will be awarded a $500 prize and honored at the festival located in Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center Theater.

“The ReFrame Disability Film Festival is designed to celebrate National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and break down stereotypes about people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said Marilee Boylan, Executive Director of The Arc of Larimer County.

The Film Festival encourages submissions from all types of filmmakers: amateurs and professionals living in Colorado alike are welcome. The winner will be chosen based on the work that best illustrates the ReFrame Disability theme.

“Some films will be funny, some will be serious, but our hope is for every festival attendee to walk away with a better understanding of what it is like to live with an intellectual or developmental disability,” added Boylan.

The Film Festival aligns with National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month to help eliminate stereotypes about individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The festival showcases short films from filmmakers around the country that either spotlight I/DD issues or are made by or feature individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Visit https://arclc.org  for film submission guidelines and details. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 30 and the winner will be announced Feb. 1.
