Jessica Shouse

Director of Advocacy

Jessica comes to The Arc of Larimer County with almost ten years of experience supporting individuals living with intellectual & developmental disabilities in various capacities. Most recently as a Program Manager for a supported employment program in Denver. Jessica is deeply committed to the ideals of person centered practices & self-determination. Her recent coursework involved learning about preserving the integrity of landmark advances in the Inclusion movement while stepping boldly away from the traditional practices that hold people with disabilities back from full citizenship expression and supports the ideals of citizenship with and on behalf of people with disabilities who are vulnerable to social exclusion. Jessica is very excited to bring all that she learned in the course to her work here at The Arc of Larimer County. Jessica is a Colorado native, growing up in south metro Denver. Jessica obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Sociology from UNC in Greeley in 2008. In 2012 Jessica completed her Master’s degree from Capella University in Human Services with a Non-Profit Leadership and Management emphasis. Jessica lives in Johnstown with her husband, 5 year old son Jacob and 2 dogs. Jessica has her own personal journey of having to advocate for Jacob as he was born 9 weeks early and lives with Growth Hormone Deficiency, a rare condition. Jessica’s hobbies include operating her small photography business, writing for her blog, watching football (Go Broncos & Buffs), yoga, mud runs, camping, hiking and more hiking!
